TechWomen 2019 has officially begun! Today, 106 Emerging Leaders from 21 countries throughout Africa, Central and South Asia and the Middle East arrive in the San Francisco Bay Area, ready to begin five weeks of learning and exchange. At the airport and housing locations throughout the Bay Area, the TechWomen team at IIE are welcoming Emerging Leaders and getting them oriented before a busy week ahead.
The week ahead includes the Cultural Kickoff, a favorite event of fellows and mentors alike that showcases the cultures and customs of all 21 participating program countries. At action Plan Works hop 1 later in the week, Emerging Leaders will lay the groundwork for their social impact projects alongside our 63 Impact Coaches.
Soon after, the Emerging Leaders will begin their immersive mentorships at one of 40 companies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley. Microsoft, SunPower and Airbnb are among the leading 2019 company partners that will host Emerging Leaders as they expand their skills. If you haven’t already seen it, don’t miss our Meet the 2019 TechWomen Emerging Leaders video, which introduces the Emerging Leaders and shares their goals, passions and commitment to creating change in their communities:
