TechWomen Celebrates International Women’s Day

How did you celebrate International Women’s Day? We were fortunate enough to spend March 8^th at Adobe Systems in San Jose, listening to an accomplished group of panelists speak about women’s path to leadership. The event, Global Women’s Journey, explored the changing face of today’s workforce that is being shaped by a new generation of women. Five panelists used personal anecdotes to illustrate the challenges and rewards of being a woman leader in an increasingly global world.

According to the Mountain View Patch, “Daniela Proske, a local professional and GABA member, was impressed by the women’s emphasis on finding mentors and volunteering.” (Read the full article here) Katy Dickinson, a panelist from Huawei Technologies, emphasized the importance of mentoring women from the Middle East and North Africa. Katy was the 2011 Mentoring Process Architect for TechWomen. She stressed the mutual benefits of mentorship, and encouraged the audience to seek out mentoring opportunities.
