Just one month ago, we were blogging about Emerging Leaders’ first week in the San Francisco Bay Area. Flash forward, and now Emerging Leaders are in Washington, DC to meet with Assistant Secretary of State Evan Ryan @ECA_AS, @SheilaDCasey from the Office of Citizen Exchanges, United States Chief Technology Officer @smithmegan, and other leadership at the U.S. Department of State. While it was bittersweet for Emerging Leaders to end their mentorships and say goodbye to California, the Washington, DC visit is an important phase of the TechWomen program, giving Emerging Leaders first hand exposure and interaction with members of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA).
Before their meetings with ECA, Emerging Leaders had the chance to explore Washington, DC and take in cultural and historical sites all over the city, including the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and a river cruise of the Potomac. Check out photos these exciting visits below, and stay tuned to our blog and #TW2014 on Twitter for more updates from our nation’s capitol.
