As part of International Women’s Day celebrations, TechWomen Director Arezoo Miot recently spoke on the Leadership, Media & Online/Office Communities panel at the Women in Tech Festival by SVForum. The Women in Tech Fest is a one-day conference celebrating organizations, companies, and startups who provide education to the women in tech. On the panel, Arezoo was joined by other champions for women in the Bay Area, including mentor Francine Gordon, Alaina Percival, Connie Guglielmo, and Eileen Carey.
Sharing anecdotes, insights, and personal experiences from working on TechWomen at IIE’s Center for Women’s Leadership Initiatives, Arezoo discussed the importance of influencing the next generation to pursue STEM. TechWomen works with women leaders from Africa, the Middle East, and this year, Central Asia, and alumnae go on to empower young girls in their local communities. As we look forward to the 2015 program, we’re incredibly proud of the work alumnae are doing to create a pipeline of women and girls in STEM fields in their respective countries.
A special thank you to SVForum for having us at the Women in Tech Fest!
