We are happy to announce the launch of the 2018 TechWomen application! Last year, we received a record-breaking 3,965 applications for the 2017 program. As the TechWomen community continues to grow, we aim to maintain that momentum by attracting another cohort of highly impressive and motivated candidates from our 20 program countries.
In the weeks following the departure of the 2017 TechWomen fellows, we have already been reminded of the life-changing possibilities presented to alumnae of this program:
- The fellows of Jordan, fresh from their seed grant win, were invited to meet with Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, who commended them on their action plan project to help female orphans pursue higher education.
- Ruth Kaveke and Chao Mbogo, both fellows of Kenya, returned home to immediately begin work on projects for Africa Code Week, an initiative to address the digital skills gap with African youths.
- Mehak Jamal, fellow of Pakistan, wrote an article for TechJuice in which she mentions her hopes to share the knowledge she gained from TechWomen with Pakistani youths.
- Danai Nhando, fellow of South Africa, wrote a blog post for HuffPost South Africa about her action plan team’s seed grant win and the plans already underway to set up the first KasiMaths Hub in Alexandria Township, Johannesburg early next year.
We know that this is just the beginning of the impact that will be created by the 2017 fellows, and we are looking forward to selecting the next cohort of changemakers who will participate in the TechWomen program.
Applications are due at 9:00 AM PST on January 17, 2018!
