We are now accepting applications from women and men in the San Francisco Bay Area to serve as mentors for the 2018 TechWomen program!
This September, 100 women from 20 countries in Africa, Central and South Asia and the Middle East will travel to San Francisco for our eighth cohort of mentorship and exchange programming. These Emerging Leaders (ELs) will take part in five weeks of professional mentorship at area science and tech companies and will also work with a team of peers to develop an action plan project to benefit their communities after their return home.
TechWomen mentors play a crucial role in supporting ELs to achieve their goals. At the same time, mentors have the chance to learn from their mentees and to participate in rich cross-cultural exchange. Read more about what TechWomen mentors have had to say about the program:

Interested in serving as a TechWomen mentor? Three different types of mentorship opportunities are available:
- Professional Mentors work one-on-one, in pairs or in groups with an EL to support her in planning and implementing a project. The project will be based on the EL’s goals, as described in each participant’s online bio. Professional Mentors will offer their expertise and access to their networks and company to support the EL.
- Cultural Mentors work collaboratively in interest groups to plan and facilitate events that showcase the best of life and culture in the Bay Area.
- Impact Coaches support a group of ELs from the same country, typically between three to five ELs, with the development of their action plan projects. Five action plan teams will receive a $3,000 seed grant to implement their ideas. (Find out more about the winning action plan projects from 2017.)
Applications must be submitted by Sunday, July 8, at 11:59 pm PT.
