At IIE, we’re hard at work gearing up for the program this fall. Here’s a look at what we’re working on next as we prepare for TechWomen 2015.
Right now is an exciting time in the year, as we’re in the middle of selection for the 2015 cohort of 99 Emerging Leaders! IIE held 17 selection committees consisting of 65 experts in STEM and program countries in late March/early April. These committee members reviewed and evaluated the top candidates from each country. Selection committees are an essential component to the overall process, as their strong understanding of the TechWomen program and vast experience in STEM fields enable them to select the most qualified individuals. The semi-finalist applicants are currently being interviewed by U.S. Embassy personnel in Africa, Central Asia, and the Middle East, and finalists will be announced next month.
Looking forward to summer, we switch gears from EL selection to focus on the Professional and Cultural mentor application. The TechWomen Mentor application will open on June 22, so stay tuned for detailed information in the coming weeks.
