Since our last program update in April, the TechWomen team at IIESF has been hard at work preparing for the arrival of the next cohort of Emerging Leaders. Participants were selected in June, and TechWomen Mentor applications opened earlier this summer. With Emerging Leaders arriving in just over a month, here’s a snapshot of what to look forward to in the coming months:
- September: During this time, Emerging Leaders and Mentors will be communicating to discuss mentorship projects, learning goals, and personal interests and get to know one another on a deeper level. At the end of this month, Emerging Leaders arrive in San Francisco!
- October: The program begins! TechWomen 2014 officially kicks off with the Welcome Orientation in early October, where Emerging Leaders meet their Mentors for the first time. Project-based mentorships at host companies, diverse cultural exchanges, and a variety of professional workshops take place to provide Emerging Leaders with rich experiences during their time in San Francisco and Silicon Valley.
- November: Emerging Leaders gather in Washington, DC to participate in talks and luncheons with the Department of State. Mentors are invited to join in this week-long visit to the nation’s capitol with Emerging Leaders before they return to their home countries.
- December: The 2015 Emerging Leader application will open.
We can’t wait to meet the 2014 Emerging Leaders next month. As we count down to October in the next four weeks, we invite you to follow us on LinkedIn and Twitter and like us on Facebook to receive more updates about the program. We hope you’re all as excited as we are for the program to begin!
