What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?
Straight from morocco, the land of hospitality and charm, I will bring a pot of Moroccan mint tea to sip while exploring ideas and discussing various projects. I will contribute my passion, curiosity and analytical mind in order to discuss new product development, customer experience, innovation and much more. I lead the R&D department in a food company and will be delighted to share my insights on food product development and food labels. I am also a sustainability champion in my company and can share about better health, better life and better planet as strategic pillars in product development.
The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship
- Learn how artificial intelligence can benefit new product development.
- Learn how to innovate, be detail-oriented and lead a team to think outside the box.
- Learn how to develop emotional intelligence and build strong partnerships with a diverse spectrum of clients.
Mentorship Characteristic
- Attend company meetings
- Focus on leadership skills building
- Identify a short-term project I can work on at the partnering company
- Exposes me to new tools and platforms
- Gets me involved in day-to-day activities of the mentor and partnering company.
Ideal Company Type
I want this mentorship to be my chance to explore other fields. My ideal match would be a company that is a leader in product development through innovation, creative thinking and detail orientation. A company that has a strong customer centricity approach to deliver the best user experience. A company that inspires a culture of collaboration, encourages leadership and promotes collective intelligence. Preferably, a company that doesn't operate in science/research because I would like to discover new industries and try to identify different new ways of working.
What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?
- Analytical
- Passionate
- Curious
What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?
The TechWomen mentorship will enable me to network with strategic decision-makers and leaders who excel in customer-centric approaches. Shadowing them will immerse me in a journey full of learning, emphasizing the importance of customer focus for business success. This perspective is lacking in the Moroccan market, where local choices are limited. Leveraging my existing contacts with business owners, I aim to inspire innovation in product-making through a market-driven approach, a milestone necessary for variety in the Moroccan market.
After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?
R&D in food business shouldn't be monopolized by international companies. Small businesses and cooperatives should also have access to this knowledge and solutions. With the right tools and support, local Moroccan products can be a beacon of hope both locally and internationally. For example; standardising the production of local sourdoughs from different moroccan regions; Offering solutions for a moroccan flat bread called msemmen that can stay fresh for a longer period of time and; add healthy solutions to the preparation of moroccan delights to boost their nutritional data. I would like to bring food education to our communities and help them attain healthy practices coupled with affordability. Through Techwomen leadership I will be able to acquire skills in leadership, customer-centricity and innovation to bring together these community leaders.
