What will be your most valuable contribution to your TechWomen mentorship?
Given my experience coordinating environmental and social impact assessment projects funded by international financial organizations, my primary contribution to the mentorship program would stem from my proficiency in interdisciplinary project management, multitasking, team leadership and budget management. I am eager to discuss the steps already taken toward transitioning to renewable energy in Uzbekistan, and to share valuable insights derived from my own experiences in such projects. While learning from my mentor and engaging in knowledge exchange, I am enthusiastic about contributing my efforts to a host company, leveraging my organizational skills and interest in on-site activities and report compilation.
The Top Three Things I Would Like to Learn or Experience During my Mentorship
- Gain insights into the best international practices, tools and methods used for environmental and social impact assessment and impact management.
- Learn how to adapt practices mentioned in objective 1 for implementation in Uzbekistan.
- Master effective project management techniques.
Mentorship Characteristic
- Visit an office or attend a site-visit
- Participate in a skills-building course, either provided by my mentor’s company or identify a free resource online
- Focus on leadership skills building
- Have exposure to basic industry techniques
- Exposes me to new tools and platforms
Ideal Company Type
My ideal company would be an international environmental and sustainability consulting company. Due to significant gaps in green initiatives in my home country, a major priority for me is to acquire comprehensive expertise in conducting environmental impact assessments for renewable energy and infrastructure projects. I would like to become acquainted with the best international practices in these fields, particularly focusing on the environmental and social impact assessment of solar and wind power plants. I believe that a company dedicated to a sustainable development mission will strongly align with the principles I value.
What are three adjectives that best describe you in the work place?
- Dedicated
- Reliable
- Ambitious
What impact will your mentorship have on your career and professional path?
I believe that the TechWomen mentorship experience will provide me with cutting-edge techniques to sharpen my hard skills while also enhancing my social intelligence. This enhancement is crucial for my current role, which demands refined interpersonal and team leadership abilities. Additionally, collaborating with seasoned professionals will broaden my network, which is essential for my career development in the green energy and sustainability sector—a field that remains relatively unstudied in Uzbekistan and Central Asia. On a personal note, having a female mentor who exemplifies a successful professional making a global impact will inspire me, bolster my motivation and reinforce my self-confidence.
After participating in the TechWomen program, how will you leverage your mentorship experience to make an impact in your home country?
Following my participation in the program, I will utilize my improved professional expertise in managing the environmental and social impact assessment projects I oversee on a daily basis. The knowledge and skills I gain from the program will naturally be shared with my colleagues and the teams I work with. Moreover, to further develop our company's technical capacity and encourage potential specialists in the green technology sector, I intend to establish a Sustainability Club for young women. This club will host regular open events, including presentations, industry-oriented workshops, topic-specific debate sessions and webinars featuring expert women from a broader network.
