Fellow guest speaks at fireside chat centered on AI
Fellow Lindiwe Matlali (South Africa, 2017), CEO of Africa Teen Geeks [ATG], recently joined Catalyst 30 for a fireside chat during Catalyzing Change Week 2023 to discuss the implications of ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence technologies on the global south. Lindiwe spoke with Chris Capossela, Executive Vice President of Microsoft during the event, which was hosted by Colin McElwee, Co Founder of Worldreader. Lindiwe touched on how she is utilizing the technology to assist underprivileged youths. “[ATG works] with our government to bring coding to schools,” Lindiwe explained. “And we [are] now using the technology that powers ChatGPT to build our platform, Ms. Zora.” Ms. Zora is an AI-powered, adaptive learning platform for STEM, created to provide equal opportunities for quality education to students of all backgrounds, regardless of their geographical location, skill level or socio-economic status.
