TechWomen Continues Its Expansion in Chicago
In October 2022, Secretary of State Antony Blinken made the exciting announcement that TechWomen would be expanding beyond the San Francisco Bay Area to Chicago, IL!
After a successful pilot program in 2023 and 2024, Emerging Leaders will continue to benefit from placements in Chicago and support from the area’s impact coaches in September and October 2025!
Professional Mentors work with ELs virtually and in-person during a 15 day professional mentorship. TechWomen has designed a program that supports all the ways professionals in STEM currently go to work.
Emerging Leaders, supported by Impact Coaches, develop impact projects to address a socioeconomic challenge in their local communities.
Cultural Mentors organize and lead cultural activities to show all that Chicago has to offer.
We are looking for Professional Mentors to work closely with an Emerging Leader to help her grow and thrive professionally. Each mentor facilitates experiences that expose the Emerging Leader to an extensive professional network and inspire her with the energetic, innovative and risk-taking culture embodied by the U.S. tech industry in Chicago. A Professional Mentor also supports the Emerging Leader in her professional learning goals and exposes her to the unique network and environment of the mentor’s company.
We need Cultural Mentors to do just that. We’ll match a 2-3 Cultural Mentors with a small group of participants to show them around town with 2-3 activities througout the month on several evenings and weekends.
The TechWomen program has been partnering with companies to empower women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) across the world since 2011. Hosting a TechWomen event is an easy way to support the mission of TechWomen. Events allow our partners to share their work with women leaders in STEM from twenty-two countries in Africa, South and Central Asia, the Middle East, and Europe as well as their mentors from innovative companies and organizations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Chicago.

The 2025 mentor applications will open in summer 2025. Please be in touch with the TechWomen team at [email protected] with any questions.
